A lot of students complain failing exams even when they study day and night, at the end, they come out crying and complaining, these category of student may be hitting the library everyday but do not really know how to study for an exams, thus they will be wasting a lot of their time in the library without gaining much needed information to ace that exams.
I am writing this article because I stumblered  on some great ways to study for an exams, because studying to pass exams may not be the same with reading for pleasure or recreational reading, in fact the following studying tips are backed scientifically to aid you to ace an examination.

These are a few tips to help you study right for an exams:
1)      Read when you are sleepy: This sound very funny and unserious, but it’s actually backed by science, studies reveals that the brain retain more information consumed when you are sleepy, so it’s worth a shot, but don’t make it a habit because it can prevent you from having a night rest, but the fact is that, the brain strengthen memories during sleepy times.
2)      Space repetition:  This tip is actually derived from a scientific study, “called space repetition” the study states that breaking down pieces of information into small units and studying them consistently will help you remember them when you are in the exam hall. This is like making notes from text and studying them consistently.
3)      Turn in your points into a story: this can actually help you remember points in exam hall, by turning your information into amazing cache stories, by so doing you will easily recollect your infos when you need to write them down.
4)      Move from place to place: Studies reveals that reading particular information in different location will makes us less likely to forget such information, like moving from the library to the coffee shop and reading the page or points will force to brain to form association with such info.
5)      Read different materials: “switch it up” read different materials on a particular topic, because this technique will help find us to use the perfect strategy aid us in location a solution to a study difficulty.
6)      Quizzing before the exam: after studying different topics, you should put yourself to the test, by quizzing yourself before the real exams day.
7)      Write down your points: research reveals that writing down your points could actually help you remember them easily, because by writing down your points, the brain will store the infos permanently.
8)      Reading out loud: studies reveals reading out as if you are telling a story out loud in the open, makes easier to store such information permanently.
9)      Caffeine Drinks:  coffee and Tea helps keep alert thus making studying more enduring,
10)   Engage in a study group: these tips are commonly used in Nigeria; research reveals that studying together with a group helps to retain information faster and easily, so engage you with a tasking group, assign task to members of such study group and rewards individual, thus encouraging competition among the group to do better.
11)   Take a break; this can help you to plan out your study, what to study and techniques to use, this can save you the hassle of just reading and consuming unnecessary information which are not relevant to the exam timetable.
12)   Meditation: research suggests that before embarking on a three hours study, take three minutes to meditate, saying om!!!!!,  meditation reduces anxiety and boost retentive retention span.
13)   Exercise: this could boost your strength and help your brain to concentrate more, because exercise helps your brain to process information faster.
14)   Music: a lot of people may disagree but research suggests that listening to music can help ease stress and I have heard many students say they can’t read without music in their ear. 
15)   Take Omega supplements:  supplements such as omega-3 fatty acid, rich in nuts and olive oil, are food for the brain because they help boost the brain power.
16)   Take a break: science suggest that taking a break regularly could actually boost productivity as long as you come back to study and not play away and forget about your exams.
17)   Ignore the internet: don’t go on facebook, twitter or instagram when you are studying for exams. It’s a sacrifice you should take note of when reading for an important exam.
18)   Choose what works for you: some students like ot study alone, some like to study at night, some like during the day and rest at night, my advice is to know what works for you.


Nigeria needs all the smart young men and women as she can get, if you know you have potentials, try out these few techniques to pass that exams so you can go further to acquire the needed skills and knowledge to drive this great country to greater heights.
