Prostate and testicular cancer have affected 250,000 men in 2002 alone as per the report of the World Health Organization. Prostate cancer is also one of the leading causes of mortality in the U.S.

With the advent of advance medical and pharmaceutical technology prostate cancer cure is promising. With many available choices of prostate cancer cure, patients can only choose the one that suits them well. However there is no single best prostate cancer cure that a medical expert can prescribe. One prostate cancer cure that is considered best at a particular prostate cancer case may not hold true with likely the same case of another patient. Treatment of prostate cancer does not only need one. It could be a combination of one prostate cancer cure with another.

Surgical procedures are the most common and the fastest among the treatments, yet they could be risky because of their invasive nature. Cutting the skin of the patient may pose yet another harm since the patient will be more vulnerable to infection and the side effects of the procedure. Older patients may not survive the procedure and may have difficulty recuperating. Prostate cancer surgery is costly too.

Hormonal replacement therapy is another option of treating prostate cancer. Testosterone. Radiotherapy both the external and internal is other option as well. External radiotherapy is a procedure that uses radioactive light from a radiotherapy machine to kill the cells attacking the prostate. The internal radiotherapy uses seed implants that are placed to the prostate. The implants will irradiate the prostate, thus killing the malignant tumors.

Any prostate cancer cure has its own risks and benefits. The decision which cure suits the patients is still for the patient to choose. The doctor can only help the patient arrived at a better informed judgment.
